So it's pretty easy to make an album page once you know what the code is (go figure). The NextGEN Gallery plugin page has a lot of useful reference information. You're bound to run across it if you're doing any kind of related search, but if you haven't gotten there yet, check it out. Anyway, I'm still working on the overall site design so I might go for a slightly different gallery style once I settle on something, but the compact style is working well enough for now. Next on the agenda is trying to get multiple blog streams on my page or manually created page templates. I haven't decided which I want to do. I'm guessing the templates will be a little more easy since I think the alternative involves more install procedures, but who knows. Either way, things are slowly coming along which is nice, and even though I haven't gotten the design polished at all, I think I start non-site-development related blogging soon. I just got Mass Effect 3 downloaded today, so there's that to start.
So I found a gallery plugin I like. I saw that NextGEN Gallery had over 4.6 million downloads so I figured it had to be doing something worth looking at. Now that I've discovered that it works for creating individual gallery pages I'm ok with, my next step with those will be making a central gallery page for all the specific galleries under it. I'm guessing that won't be too hard, but there's so much I want to do or learn to do with this site that it's hard to stay focused on one thing. Continuing to not have a very specific direction for this site doesn't help a lot with the whole focus thing either, but that's all part of the fun. Speaking of, I really should settle on an appearance template I like so I can start customizing the CSS.

It starts…

My first post. I've sat here for a little over ten minutes trying to decide what to write. At this point, the site doesn't have much purpose or direction, but I'm working on it. So I suppose that's what I'll be writing about until I get something more concrete. I'm going to have to change my site description...
